From August to November 2026, Museo Gotica presents a new series of events in the “Horizons of Freedom” programme. Horizons of Freedom, the programme of guided tours dedicated to the sites of the Gothic Line in the Mugello area.
The tours take participants through some of the main battle sites of 1944. Each itinerary combines historical interpretation, an understanding of the landscape, and the memory of the units that fought in this area. From the Giogo Pass to Monte Altuzzo, from the German Military Cemetery at the Futa Pass to Monticelli and Fontefredda, each stop offers the opportunity to see the places where the fighting took place and to understand their significance within the wider context of the Italian Campaign.
The calendar includes five dates, each with a different itinerary and references to the German and American units involved in the sectors visited.

The tours are designed for those who wish to discover the history of the Gothic Line by walking through the actual places where the events took place. They are not simply visits, but in-depth field experiences combining landscape, memory and military history.
