Italy War Route, the map guide


Dopo mesi di lavoro e dedizione nonostante il difficile periodo in cui molte attività, specialmente quelle del settore turistico e museale, si sono dovute fermare, c’è chi ha sfruttato al meglio il tempo attivandosi per ampliare l’offerta informativa e formativa turistica; dalla volontà di collaborare e fare rete, delle maggiori realtà associative e museali operanti in Italia nella ricerca e nella divulgazione storica relativa alla Campagna d’Italia, prende ufficialmente vita l’Italy War Route. Un progetto che ha, come obiettivo comune, quello di promuovere i luoghi della memoria nelle regioni coinvolte dal secondo conflitto mondiale al fine di ampliare l’offerta culturale e turistica e la divulgazione della memoria storica dei valori universali di pace, libertà e democrazia nelle nuove generazioni.
The first concrete act is the creation and dissemination of the Italy War Route map guide, a new editorial product promoted by nine Museums, centers of the Historical Memory of the events of the 1943/1945 Italian Campaign.
The map guide directs the visitor to discover the permanent museum exhibitions, which tell the story of the vicissitudes of soldiers and civilians who were protagonists in the war, while excursions in the territories under the jurisdiction of the museums allow for in-depth analysis thanks to the guidance of people motivated by a passion for history. A large section of the map is dedicated to the main military events and the cemeteries left as a reminder of the enormous tribute of blood.
