The “Quelli della Karin” Museum in Subbiano, in the province of Arezzo, is managed by the association of the same name and is dedicated to preserving the historical memory of the Second World War. Located at Via Roma 8, it houses a large collection of war relics found in the area, including helmets, dog tags and medical materials. The museum tells the story of the German defensive lines “Brown” and “Karin”, strategic alignments that in 1944 were the scene of violent clashes between British forces, including Sikh and Gurkha troops of the 4th and 10th Indian Divisions, and German units of the LI Gebirgs-Armeekorps and XIV Panzerkorps. Among the main attractions is an evocative reconstruction of an underground air-raid shelter used by the population during the conflict. The visits, guided by members of the association, offer not only a view of the relics but also engaging stories and historical insights into the events that marked the territory.
