Vernio (PO) // Permanent Exhibition of the Gothic Line

The Permanent Exhibition of the Gothic Line of Vernio is a museum dedicated to war relics found in the Torricella area, the scene of intense fighting in September 1944. Located at Piazza del Comune 20, next to the Oratory, the exhibition displays significant objects such as helmets, identification tags and medical materials, testimonies to the violent fighting that took place in the area. Among the items on display, the remains of a downed U.S. B-25 bomber stand out, with a detailed reconstruction of the story of the only surviving crew member. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to deepen knowledge of the historical events that marked the Val di Bisenzio during the Second World War.
