Activation in progress

The “Gotica 64” Socio-Cultural Centre and Gothic Line Museum is a new institution dedicated to the historical memory of the Gothic Line, located in Vergato (BO). This multi-purpose space is set within an urban park and offers young people and the local community a place for meeting and cultural study. The “Gotica 64” Centre was created with the aim of preserving and disseminating the history of the Gothic Line, the German defensive line that crossed the Apennines during the Second World War. The museum offers permanent and temporary exhibitions, with historical relics, documents and testimonies from the period. In addition to its museum function, “Gotica 64” serves as a socio-cultural centre, hosting events, conferences and educational activities aimed at young people and the community.

This is a project launched in 2017 and carried out by the municipal administration together with the Metropolitan City of Bologna thanks to funding from the Cohesion Fund. With the works completed, the exhibition installations are nearing completion. The inauguration is expected in 2025. The “Gotica 64” project is part of a broader urban regeneration initiative.
