For the honor of Italy, Folgore! is a book that tells the extraordinary adventure of Umberto Bisaccioni, a young eighteen-year-old thrown into one of the most challenging and bloody battles fought in Italy during the Second World War. Accompanied by vintage black and white photographs (some unpublished) and others in color that show the locations of the battle of the time, this book offers an immersion in the story of a real iron bolt. Umberto Bisaccioni fought heroically and apocalyptically in the battles against the V and VIII Allied Armies together with all his comrades of the Folgore Parachute Regiment of the RSI.
The author, Gianni Bianchi, conducted a heartfelt interview with this brave soldier, offering us an authentic look at those days of courage and sacrifice. The presentation of the then commander of the Folgore, Edoardo Sala, adds further depth to the narrative of this important part of Italian history.
