Traduzione: The Museum of Stories from the Gothic Line in Castel d’Aiano is a place dedicated to the memory of the events of the Second World War that marked the Bolognese and Modenese Apennines. Located in a carefully restored nineteenth-century building, the museum preserves the authentic atmosphere of the past, with terracotta floors and original mangers framing a unique exhibition. The relics collected from the battlefields of the Gothic Line, such as Castel d’Aiano, Gaggio Montano and Montese, tell moving stories of soldiers and civilians involved in the dramatic wartime events. Among the items on display are personal objects, military equipment and documents that offer an intimate and human view of the war. Each relic is accompanied by narratives that give voice to those who lived through those days, such as the moving story of Sergeant Andrew Lopez, who fell at Castel d’Aiano in April 1945. Thanks to the work of the Green Line II Historical and Cultural Association, the museum is a bridge between past and present, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the stories of a region that was the scene of crucial fighting. The display, sober yet effective, makes this space a place for reflection on historical memory and on the impact of war on the lives of those who experienced it. A visit to the museum is a cultural and emotional experience that allows visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the events of the Gothic Line and to honour the memory of those who lost their lives there.
