A new Temporary Exhibition is held at the MuGot in Ponzalla – Scarperia and San Piero in a new, freshly decorated room. The exhibition is entitled BLADED WEAPONS IN THE ART OF WAR and is part of the initiatives linked to ART REFLECTIONS: «THE MEDICIS. PEOPLE OF MUGELLO. FAMILY PORTRAITS FROM THE UFFIZI GALLERIES", according to the program promoted by the Mountain Union of the Mugello Municipalities and by the Municipality of Scarperia and San Piero within the many exhibition initiatives of the CR Firenze Foundation and the Uffizi Galleries. In the context of this important exhibition, a series of thematic events involve the "Piccoli Grandi Musei" and "Uffizi Diffusi", with the intent of enhancing the Mugello Montagna Fiorentina little Museums System.

For the reigning princes, the equipment of bladed weapons, swords, daggers and stilettos represented one of the recognizable attributes of rank and power. And the Medici were, of course, no exception, as also highlighted in the portrait of Grand Duke Francesco I present at the Scarperia exhibition. For the occasion, the MUGOT hosts a temporary exhibition dedicated to the history of bladed weapons and the visit will allow us to examine their evolution from the Renaissance to the present day.
