Motors and memory in Boston
On Sunday, May 18, 2025, Gotica Toscana aps participated in the 14th Boston Wounded Vet Run, one of the largest charity motorcycle events in the United States, which gathers thousands of participants each year to support American veterans wounded in recent conflicts. The roar of Harley-Davidsons accompanied a long procession through the streets of Massachusetts, a collective tribute to those who have served their country with honor. Among the flags, military salutes and handshakes, Italy was also present:

During the opening ceremony, Gabriele Olof Lelli addressed an official greeting on behalf of the Italian member museums of Italy War Route, arousing affection and gratitude among those present.
His speech highlighted the ongoing efforts of Italian museums to preserve the memory of American soldiers who fell and passed through our territory, especially along the Gothic Line.
Lelli stressed the value of these international collaborations, which are capable of strengthening the bond between peoples who have shared the burden of war and the commitment to peace. The words of gratitude received were a sincere recognition for the daily work done by Gotica Toscana and the other Italian partners, often in silence but with great dedication.

The presence of Gotica Toscana Onlus in Boston was not a symbolic gesture, but the concrete expression of a network of relationships that, for years, has united Italy and the United States in the name of shared memory. Events such as the Wounded Vet Run are not just sporting or charitable events, but true collective rituals that keep memories alive, honor the sacrifice of veterans and strengthen the sense of community.
Gotica Toscana, which has always been committed to preserving and telling the story of World War II on the Italian front, brought with it testimonies, documents and stories of American soldiers who fought and often found death in our mountains.
